Day 1: Travel from Kigali to Virunga National Park

Day 1 of your Congo gorilla trip begins with breakfast and after, leave Kigali for Virunga National Park. Your tour leader will take you on a quick Kigali city tour and areas of interest include a visit to Kigali genocide site, local markets. Later, begin your 4 hours’ trip to Goma Town then get to the Virunga National Park, approximately 2 hours’ drive.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park

Gorilla treks in the Virunga National Park begin with a hefty breakfast and after, expect to be at Bukima Patrol Post to be briefed on gorilla trekking rules and regulations. At 8:00am, start your trek to explore the habituated family in the Virunga which will be allocated to you. These include Munyaga, Humba, Lulengo, Mapuwa, Bageni, Nyakamwe, Rugendo and Kabirizi. This is a 2-5 hours primate trek and it includes 1 hour of magical encounter.
